Men In Black 3 Official Posters Arrive

Don't stare too hard...Given that most of the buzz thus far on Men In Black 3 has been fairly negative reports of script issues, production delays and Will Smith's big trailer, Sony is no doubt ready to try and turn things around. And the first official marketing volley: teaser posters for the movie featuring stars Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are online via Coming Soon.First revealed by the gang at Collider last week when they began cropping up in US cinemas, the posters are at least different from your usual floating head types (and a departure from the traditional shots of Smith and Jones holding big guns), though we do worry that they tend to send your eyes a bit funny if you stare at them for too long.{Men In Black 3 posters}Also gearing up is what appears to be a viral marketing campaign for the film, with a URL on the posters leading to the Facebook page of a conspiracy nut that has hit pay dirt and discovered the existence of the MIB team. There's not much to it yet, but expect it to expand soon.Men In Black 3 finds Smith's Agent J having to travel back in time to save a young K (Josh Brolin) and stop yet another world-threatening disaster. The film also features Alice Eve, Jemaine Clement, Emma Thompson, Bill Hader, Michael Stuhlbarg and Rip Torn. It'll be out (in 3D) on May 25, 2012.

New You are able to Film Experts Circle Honours Preview: 'The Descendants,' Jean Dujardin and Meryl Streep Predicted to Win

By Tom O'Neil, GoldDerby.com Expect if some crazy award those who win leave the voting powwow from the NY Film Experts Circle on Tuesday morning. According a poll of award experts carried out by Gold Derby, these would be the those who win: 'The Descendants' (Best Picture), Jean Dujardin (Best Actor in 'The Artist') and Meryl Streep (Best Actress in 'The Iron Lady'), Albert Brooks (Best Supporting Actor in 'Drive') and Jessica Chastain (Best Supporting Actress in 'The Help,' 'Tree of Life' and 'Take Shelter'). However, the critics' circle is well known for breeding voter clashes that lead to crazy honorees. Everything has related to the archaic voting procedure. Each critic ranks faves by setting three (top choice), two and something indicate each, and also the champion must show up on most ballots. Consequently, voting in each category frequently spans many ballots, rival camps form and victory are only able to be stated with a compromise candidate. 'Milk' won Best Picture of 2009, for instance, only if players for 'Rachel Marriage,A 'Happy-Go-Lucky' and 'Slumdog Millionaire' surrendered and recognized an agreement. No experts entering the 2002 voting conclave planned to choose the cool 'Mulholland Drive,' however it emerged because the default choice once they could not decide among 'In the Bed room,' 'Gosford Park' and 'Shrek' after many frustrating ballot clashes. Additionally to 'The Descendants,' another movies with strong NYFCC support this season are 'Tree of Life' and 'The Artist,' but expect if 'Moneyball' or 'Midnight in Paris' emerges because the fallback choice. The best champion matters a great deal since the Gotham experts have experienced a powerful affect on the Academy awards over time. In the last 76 years, these were the first one to hail eventual Academy Award Best Pictures 28 occasions. It's obvious the NY Film Critics' Circle performed a vital role within the eventual Oscar victories of these films as 'The Lost Weekend' (1946), 'Marty' (1956), 'Tom Jones' (1964), 'In the Warmth from the Night' (1968), 'The Deer Hunter' (1979), 'Ordinary People' (1981), 'Terms of Endearment' (1984) and 'The Silence from the Lambs' (1992). However the agreement rate has not been too impressive lately. Only five occasions previously two decades has got the same film won Best Picture in NY as well as on Oscar evening. This past year 'The Social Network' taken all the key critics' honours, but Hollywood did not appear of looking after. David Fincher's Facebook movie was usurped by 'The King's Speech' in the industry honours presented through the guilds and also the film academy. Nevertheless, the circle has performed a starring role in spotlighting many stars who continued to win Academy awards. Stars like Forest Whitaker ('Last King of Scotland,' 2006), Geoffrey Hurry ('Shine,' 1996) and Marcia Gay Harden ('Pollock,' 2000) most likely owe their Academy Award victories mainly to early wins inside the circle. Producer Graham King Talks Tomb Raider

Obviously very brieflyIt's been a while since we heard any updates in regards to the Tomb Raider reboot, and we'd hesitate to take advantage of this word relevant for this story. But let's condition that producer Graham King just re-emphasised his intentions to continue the adventures of Lara Croft.King inherited the videogame franchise in March, when his GK Films banner nabbed the rights from Warner Bros and Square Enix. Since we last reported, the only real news remains that Iron Guy authors Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus have acquired the script gig. Nevertheless the task they've been designated is, as is actually mooted, to fully reboot the franchise becoming an origin story, and overlook the continuity in the Jennifer Aniston instalments Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Filth Existence."[People two films] weren't problems," states King, most recently in the office with Martin Scorsese on Hugo, "nevertheless the story that people are telling is often the story before she increased being Lara Croft, therefore it is a personality piece, that people like. It's still plenty of action and a lot of fun, however it arrives with plenty of excellent figures, too for me, it's something different. I haven't always done a movie such as this before, however really gravitated to restarting this franchise and that we will probably give it a try.InchThe reboot also, easily, suggests the role might be recast, probably getting a less expensive actress than celebrity Jolie. Start with the wild speculation regarding who that might be below.Once the new Tomb Raider makes its initially mooted 2013 release date, it will likely be following reasonably carefully round the heels in the similarly restarted game franchise. The next console Tomb Raider, getting a 21-year-old "fresh-from-the-academy" Lara Croft honing her nascent fighting and puzzling capabilities undertaking a shipwreck in the coast of Japan, is at development and presently expected for release inside the third quarter of 2012. Fox 2000 Exec Veep Carla Hacken Becomes New Regency Production President

EXCLUSIVE: Longtime Fox 2000 executive vice president Carla Hacken is leaving the studio to become president of production for New Regency. It is the latest move in a restructuring of the company since Arnon Milchan reemerged as an active chairman and installed former Paramount Pictures production president Brad Weston as CEO with a mandate to become a more filmmaker-driven concern. New Regency is partly owned by News Corp, whose 20th Century Fox distributes and often co-finances Regency-generated films. The move was orchestrated with the cooperation of Fox Filmed Entertainment co-chairmen Jim Gianopulos and Tom Rothman and Fox 2000 president Elizabeth Gabler. “Jim, Tom and Liz have been great partners and are incredibly gracious about Carla,” Weston told me in confirming the move. “They see this as a terrific opportunity for her, and a great way to help support New Regency. Arnon and I couldn’t be more appreciative.” Hacken was an ICM agent when she was brought into the Fox 2000 fold 15 years ago by Laura Ziskin. She has worked closely with Gabler and developed such films as Unfaithful, The Devil Wears Prada, Walk The Line, Bride Wars, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and its sequel, Percy Jackson & The Olympians, Love & Other Drugs and In Her Shoes. There has long been a tradition of cross pollination between Fox and New Regency (which is based on the lot). That includes Sanford Panitch (who moved from Fox to Regency and now steers Fox International Productions) and most recently Hutch Parker and Bob Harper, who steered New Regency and exited in late August. Hacken joins Alexandra Milchan, who rejoined her father’s company as executive vice president, after a long stretch as a producer. “Bringing Carla in is a big part of reshaping New Regency,” Weston said. “She has made terrific movies like Walk the Line and The Devil Wears Prada, she has great talent relationships and terrific taste in material. She’s the perfect fit for where we are going with the company.” Arnon Milchan’s goal is to reestablish New Regency as a filmmaker-driven company that generates six to nine movies per year. New Regency is in production on the Mark Wahlberg-Russell Crowe-starrer Broken City; production will start next spring on the Darren Aronofsky-directed Biblical epic Noah, in partnership with Paramount; The Gray Man starts late summer with Brad Pitt and director James Gray; and the Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu-directed The Revenant starts production in September. Sean Penn and Leonardo DiCaprio are circling the lead roles in that drama.

Happy Foot Two: Film Review

What came out fresh and fun in 2006 now feels as if recycled goods in Happy Foot Two. To start with, the vista of multicultural penguins singing and dancing in the gorgeous, eco threatened setting made an appearance disarmingly novel. But while numerous new figures are actually introduced to the zoologically varied cast, the format and designs have a very shopworn air the 3d Antarctic vistas and intermittent brains can't surmount. Commercial, however, there's pointless this splashy follow-up won't perform similar to the initial, which attracted in $385 million worldwide.our editor recommends'Happy Foot Two' Blue Carpet Premiere ArrivalsFrom 'Great Gatsby' to 'Happy Foot Two': 7 Hot Movies, Series Being Launched of Australia'Happy Foot 2' Teaser Trailer (Video) It's now been 13 years since George Burns directed an energetic-action feature as well as the thought he's devoted nearly half that time with this follow-up, no matter how remunerative, naturally agitates devoted fans anxious for him to start his Mad Max retooling along with other project. However, tykes will probably be delighted revisit the icy places resided on by Mumble (now a parent), Ramon, Lovelace and numerous new creatures, who face the down sides of existence with various amounts of trepidation and grit. Nevertheless the minute the film opens getting an enormous musical number featuring what's thousands of penguins singing and dancing in precision symphony, no less than some audiences may decide to affiliate with Mumble's little misfit boy Erik due to not succumbing for the pressure to evolve by joining inside the forced jubilation. But, alas, this is not to become penguin The Catcher inside the Rye. While little Erik does hightail it, based on two fellow Emperor kids and also the father's riffing friend Ramon, it's not always in rebellion, as well as the script fragments with techniques that demonstrates all the existence forms on, under and across the seventh region, the backdrop objects which, as before, are strongly taken in the hyper-realistic animated style. An even more engaging mission of identity than Erik's, much more attractive to be so absurd, concentrates on some krill energetically vocalized by Matt Damon and Kaira Pitt. Resembling small red-colored-colored shrimp, krill come in uncountable amounts within the least expensive finish in the underwater food chain, there being scooped up with the mouthful by numerous potential potential predators. No creatures is often more anonymous or less prone individualization, when Will claims his unique identity--"I am one inch a krillion," he demands in one of several such puns-it's difficult to not to be analyzed in by such unlikely hubris. Not only that, nevertheless the interplay between Damon and Pitt is especially spirited, giving their moments a energy that feels natural rather than cranked up by music too as with-your-face effects. The feeling is palpable of Burns and also the co-employees looking for new techniques to provide the Antarctic setting, to build up something fresh to warrant this follow-up. But ultimately they choose from such reliables as comic shtick in many accents and soul/funk/rap amounts coupled with tired ྂs and ྌs anthem rock refrains. Indeed, really the only truly inspired musical touch, which hits as being a bolt within the heavens, has little Erik delivering, in the pivotal moment, a unique rendition in the "'E Lucevan Le Stelle" aria from Puccini's Tosca. Since the film bounces along, many of the incident and action feels progressively arbitrary and unmotivated. In contrast for the best recent animated features, the script just isn't very funny, tending towards nutty hijinks rather than wit. Even where the disarming krill are involved, a couple of of the close shaves feel like the misadventures in the desperate squirrel inside the Ice Age series. And speaking about Ice Age, the weather change theme can get another serious workout here with techniques that will win nods of approval within the Al Gore faithful but provoke irritation among people frustrated with being spoon because of the politically correct line. The penguins' world sometimes seems being melting, with puddles and wet ice in evidence, plus an atmosphere crisis puts the large avian population in peril requiring a desperate save effort. Scientifically true or else, relating to this subject, additionally to artistically, Happy Foot Two is treading water. Primary Point Here: Aside from commercial, more is less in this antic, much less funny follow-up for the 2006 blockbuster. OPENS: November 18 (Warner Bros.) UFC on Fox: Exactly what the Media Says

Saturday evening's mma (MMA) fight between heavyweights Cain Velasquezand Brazilian Junior Dos Santos was the very first Ufc bout ever to air on the broadcast network in primetime. Your dream broadcast on Fox and happened in the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.our editor recommendsSaturday Night's Large Fight: Boxing versus. UFCUFC Leader Calls Fox Deal a 'Milestone' for that SportFox Ink Multiyear Cope With UFCUFC Champion Wealthy Franklin's Story Headed towards the Giant Screen (Exclusive) The bout survived just a little on the minute, with Dos Santos knocking Velasquez down having a punch towards the temple along with a beat lower that adopted before the referee stopped your dream. A reaction to the broadcast ranged in the humorous towards the general consensus that Fox includes a champion using the franchise. PHOTOS: 10 Broadcast and Cable Television Show Most Viewed By Males Book of Basketball author Bill Simmons tweeted: "UFC manages to lose its network virginity to Fox also it's in under 90 seconds. Much like real existence!" Jonathan Snowden from the MMA Nation website authored, "The only fight from the evening on Fox, it shipped an enchanting moment. Regrettably, it had been one one. Everyone else was amped, prepared to participate history. Rather, these were a part of only minute of fight action. Regardless of the paucity of in cage work, the promotion's network debut needs to be described as a conditional success. There have been no major gaffes. Your dream unsuccessful to provide a vintage, but wasn't boring either. The pre-recorded introductions of both martial artists were the very best in UFC history." The Bay Area Chronicle's Peter Hartlaub mused, "No whim, indeed. The heavyweight Junior Dos Santos/Cain Velasquez fight finishes with Dos Santos knocking out Velasquez after approximately one minute within the first round. I'd state that was the 2nd-worst situation scenario with UFC's historic first fight on network TV. (Worst situation scenario undoubtedly would be a nasty injuries.) PHOTOS: Hollywood's Greatest Fantasy Football Fans Hartlaub congratulated Fox of keeping the proceedings lively and available to non-UFC fans: "The broadcast team did a great job of keeping things feasible for new fans, after which airing two small-documentaries that revealed Dos Santos and Velasquez as introspective, humble and intelligent people. My UFC-averse wife was riveted, and wound up watching your dream beside me.Inch The Connected Press notes the short fight wasn't what UFC leader Dana Whitened wanted in broadcast television debut: "The nation's television audience got an idea of M.M.A.'s violence although not anything else within the abnormally short fight. The UFC leader, Dana Whitened, find the two fearsome martial artists for his Fox debut due to our prime possibility of a stoppage victory -- Velasquez and Dos Santos had ended almost all of their fights by early stoppage. But Whitened was clearly not thrilled with only how rapidly that finish showed up, demeaning Velasquez's decision to face and fight with Dos Santos, among the best boxers in M.M.A. SB Nation's Eric Stephen stated the fast decision brings him to the activity: "Yes, it could have been ideal for UFC if both Velasquez and Dos Santos fought one another for five difficult models with lots of back-and-forth action. But a lightning-quick victory isn't always bad. I remember Mike Tyson stunning Michael Spinks in a moment . 5 in 1988 that boxing match would be a very over-blown event, however the quickness from the victory didn't take from the festivities. Actually, it had been a part of what made Tyson Tyson. After watching the occasions in Anaheim on Saturday evening, I'm very likely to look at UFC moving forward. In the end, who knows what can happen.Inch Saturday's fight can serve as an appetizer for that $700 million Fox-UFC seven-year deal that begins in The month of january and brings the frequently violent sport -- featuring aspects of boxing, wrestling, boxing, judo, etc. -- in to the mainstream (a minimum of the UFC hopes so). Contender: 'Midnight in Paris'

'Midnight in Paris' Read the Variety reviewDespite Woody Allen's insoluble association with NY (and a more-than-implied aversion to Los Angeles), the writer-director found new vitality in a carefree sojourn abroad this year with "Midnight in Paris" -- the latest in a series of late-career pics set in the world's most scenic cities. But after opening the Cannes film festival in May, "Midnight" went on to seduce audiences like no other Allen pic before, which can't hurt its chances in the directing, original screenplay and perhaps even performance categories. Set amid the literary Paris of the '20s, the time-traveling fantasy charmed the critics, while word-of-mouth kept it in theaters throughout the summer, making "Midnight" Allen's biggest hit ever. (With a worldwide cume of more than $128 million, it positively dwarfs the closest Allen film, "Hannah and her Sisters." It's also remade its budget three times.)The director has been a regular name on the Oscar ballot since "Annie Hall" took 1977's best picture, writer and director prizes, and yet, of the 18 nominations he's received since, the only other time he won was for writing "Hannah" -- 25 years ago.If the Academy is reluctant to fete Allen himself, acknowledging Corey Stoll's turn as Ernest Hemingway would be one way of recognizing a movie that has resuscitated the helmer's career.Release date: June 10 Sony Pictures Classics Read the Variety review Contact the Variety newsroom at news@variety.com
