Hulu scoops up Brit series

"Spy" Hulu has acquired around 40 several hours of British shows from Hat Trick Intl. Package includes exclusive rights to British sitcom, "Spy," starring Darren Boyd just like a reluctant secret agent and Robert Lindsay becoming an MI5 operative, which bowed on Sky1 this fall. Hulu outbid a mystery U.S. broadcaster for "Spy," an indication of techniques VOD platforms are raising their game inside the competition for original shows. Package includes secondary rights to being a parent sitcom "Outnumbered," factual entertainment skein "James May's Guy Lab" and awesome chat show "The Kumars at No. 42." Shows will probably be on Hulu's free advertising-supported platform and subscription service Hulu Plus. Deal was brokered by Sarah Tong, Hat Trick Intl's. director of sales.
